Fiction Pimps manifested a large-scale interactive performance-installation at this years Roskilde festival in close collaboration with the UK-based immersive performance group Collective Unconscious and the architects of SHJ Works. The Velvet State contained 13 rooms, a courtyard, a stage, installations, sounds and visuals and could house around 30 performers, amongst other from Club de la Faye (DK) who engaged in an interactive performance-dialogue with the festival participants. It was a kaleidoscope of rooms inhabited by different sensuous modes of being. Furthermore it functioned as a dreamy framework for a series of performance acts with representation from a number of different countries. The Velvet State was found in the Art Zone of the festival grounds right next to Orange Stage.
