Department of Education Certified Agreement 2019 Ballot

As the Department of Education Certified Agreement 2019 heads to the ballot box, educators across the country are paying close attention to the potential impacts on their profession and their students.

The agreement, which represents the terms and conditions of employment for teachers and staff in government schools, has been negotiated over the course of the last year. Its provisions include wage increases, improved job security, and additional support for students with special needs.

One of the key points of the agreement is a proposed 2.5 percent pay increase for teachers and support staff, with an additional 1 percent increase for experienced teachers. This comes in response to concerns about the affordability of living in many areas of Australia, as well as the need to retain and attract skilled educators to the profession.

The agreement also includes a number of provisions aimed at improving job security and working conditions for teachers and support staff. These include measures such as the provision of additional training and support for new teachers, the introduction of new resources and classroom technologies, and increased support for students with special needs.

Many educators and union officials have praised the agreement for its focus on improving the quality of education in Australia, and for its recognition of the valuable role that teachers and support staff play in the education system. However, some have raised concerns about the potential cost of implementing the agreement, as well as the need for further measures to address issues such as workload and job stress.

As the agreement heads to the ballot box, educators and union officials will be closely monitoring the results. If it is approved, it is hoped that the agreement will help to improve the quality of education in Australia, and provide better support and recognition for the important work done by teachers and support staff in schools across the country.
