“A fantastic and moving event last night, continuing our week-long programme held at The Koppel Project for Refugee Week.
Kate McGowan is a performance artist and activist whose film project Other Story focuses on the individual and personal narratives of refugees, breaking down the stereotypes fed to us by mainstream media portrayals.
Amongst screenings of the films, we heard Ali’s testimony first-hand via Skype; everyone at the event had the opportunity to ask questions, share their feelings, give messages of encouragement and support, and learn what they might do more to help the crisis.
Kate’s work is ongoing, and Other Story welcomes donations to its remarkable work.”
